On 25–26 November 2025, staff of the “Zerkalo” Center participated in a training for the pilot Monitoring Group of the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman on monitoring places of restriction and deprivation of liberty. The event was organized by the Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law.

The training began with an overview of the work of the Joint Monitoring Group of the Ombudsman and civil society organizations in Tajikistan. Participants then received training on the following topics:
- The role of preventive visits to places of detention;
- Standards for monitoring pre-trial detention facilities and prisons; introduction to Guidance No. 1;
- How to conduct monitoring visits: introduction to Guidance No. 2;
- Developing recommendations and planning follow-up actions after monitoring visits;
- Preparing monitoring reports: visit reports and other formats;
- Monitoring visits to places of restriction and deprivation of liberty involving persons in vulnerable situations.

As part of the training, participants completed group exercises on assessing compliance with monitoring standards, applying monitoring visit methodologies, developing recommendations and follow-up actions, preparing monitoring reports, and conducting monitoring visits to facilities that house vulnerable groups.

The training concluded with a Q&A session and a certificate award ceremony.
