Central Asian Civil Society Forum “Partnership and Progress: The Path to Gender Equality”

On 2 December 2025, the Central Asian Civil Society Forum “Partnership and Progress: The Path to Gender Equality” was held in Dushanbe, with the participation of staff members of the PO CSR “Zerkalo”.

The Forum was organized by the PO “Gender and Development” with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and brought together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, and civil society from Central Asian countries.

The aim of the Forum was to discuss contemporary approaches to promoting gender equality, advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls, and strengthening cross-sectoral and regional cooperation.

The event was dedicated to a number of significant international and national milestones, including:

  • the 20th anniversary of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On State Guarantees of Equality between Men and Women and Equal Opportunities for Their Implementation”;
  • the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security;
  • the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action;
  • the 25th anniversary of the activities of the Public Organization “Gender and Development”, and was also held within the framework of the “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.

The forum included official signing ceremonies for:

  • A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Committee on Women and Family Affairs and the NGO “Gender and Development”;
  • A Roadmap for Cooperation to 2026 between the NGO “Gender and Development” and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
