Dushanbe, 8–9 April 2026 – A two-day training aimed at strengthening practical monitoring and evaluation skills among civil society organisations has been completed in Dushanbe. The training was organised by the public organisation “Zerkalo” within the framework of a project implemented with financial support from the European Union. The project aims to enhance accountability and promote the protection of human rights in Tajikistan.

The training brought together 25 representatives of non-governmental organisations from Dushanbe and the Districts of Republican Subordination. Participants focused on applying monitoring and evaluation tools to national strategic documents, including the Action Plan of the National Human Rights Strategy up to 2038, with particular emphasis on the use of data for advocacy and engagement with state authorities.

The training program covered key approaches to building monitoring and evaluation systems, including the development of indicators, methods of data collection and analysis, as well as the application of evaluation criteria—relevance, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. The practical component enabled participants to adapt the acquired tools to their ongoing programs and initiatives. The training was developed and delivered by independent monitoring and evaluation experts Khayrinisso Rasulova and Gulnora Beknazarova.

The event is implemented within the framework of the project “Enhancing Civil Society and the State’s Capacities on Accountability and Torture Prevention through Human Rights Initiatives in Tajikistan”, implemented with the financial support of the European Union in partnership by three organizations: the PO “Zerkalo,” PO “World of Law” and the Dutch foundation “Perspectivity Challenge.” @euintajikistan
